NEWSFLASH: ENGLISH SPRINGER FOUNDATION PRESENTATION AT THE NATIONAL!!

WHEN AND WHERE: Tuesday, October 10 at 6:00 pm – Founders Room
The ESS Foundation will present Dr. Keiko Miyadera, DVM, PhD, Penn Vet and Dr. Steven Friedenberg, DVM, PhD Dip. ACVECC, University of Minnesota. Each will share current research on English Springer Spaniels.  Dr. Miyadera will present her findings from her Phase 1 PRA studies. She will share her plan for continuing her work in Phase 2 (the Foundation has approved funding of Phase 2, up to $70,000, and additional contributions from Springer enthusiasts are welcome).  She will also be collecting samples and conducting eye exams and is particularly interested in affected dogs and affected dogs that she has previously examined. Dr. Freidenberg will present his findings regarding a rare bleeding disorder which has been discovered in English Springer Spaniels; he is collaborating with Cornell University to provide genetic testing for the disease. He will provide testing (using cheek swabs) at the National in order to gather more information; let’s support this important work.
